I used acupressure with great success during my labour for my son. Today I found a study that showed that using acupressure for a natural birth can not only reduce the pain (it did!), but also the length of labour (hard to tell, in my case – he was induced).
To try and share this with you, I now have Debra Bett’s DVDs available – Acupressure for Natural Pain Relief in Labour. This is a great resource as it explains how to use acupressure, but also shows you really clearly in the DVD where the points are.
This is fantastic for women and their partners, but also for doulas, midwives and other caregivers who want to help mums to birth naturally. It includes points to use when you may need a medical induction, or when labour is stalling, mum is nervous, or baby in the wrong position – breech or posterior.
You can read more about it here.
