Containing anti-inflammatory, soothing, antiseptic and wound healing herbs it is great for use in a sitz bath, as a peri-spray, peri wash or in warm or cold compresses. You may begin using your Peri-Heaven Postnatal Herb Bombs in any form within the first few hours after the birth, and its recommended you continue to do so during the first week particularly. One or two sitz baths daily (of about 15-20 minutes) will be of great benefit and really speeds up the recovery time.

Calendula – the flowers are used for their anti-inflammatory, astringent, anti-fungal and tissue healing properties.
Comfrey – a potent wound healing herb, it also contains demulcent (soothing) properties so is wonderful for inflamed tissues, and has astringent properties so it’s useful for bruising, swelling and haemorrhoids.
Uva-Ursi – has a specific antiseptic and astringent effect on the mucous membranes of the urinary system and acts as a demulcent on tender perineal tissues.
Yarrow – Widely regarded traditionally as a wound herb, yarrow has great astringent and antiseptic properties, beneficial to mucous membranes.
Witch Hazel – this herb has a deserved reputation for its astringent properties. Helps check bleeding, bruising and swelling, including haemorrhoids.
Rosemary – the volatile oil, when used externally, helps ease muscular and nerve pain and help relax the muscles of the perineum and pelvic floor as a sits bath.
Lavender – its volatile oil is used for its soothing aroma and it also has anti-bacterial properties.
Sea Salt – the original component of sitz baths. The trace minerals in sea salt help to soothe a heal skin that is inflamed, grazed, itching or oozing.
